Southern Style Okra

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups sliced okra
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 ½ cup tomato puree from fresh tomatoes
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour blended with 1 tbsp cold water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions: Cook okra in boiling salted water for 10 minutes. Drain. Heat olive oil in a saucepan and sauté onion and bell pepper.  Add remaining ingredients.  Cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
