Spicy Asian Pear and Apple Sauce

4 Asian Pears
4 Apples
1/8 cup lemon juice
1/8 cup water
1/8-1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8-1/4 tsp ground ginger
honey or agave nectar to taste


Core Asian pears and apples and chop into quarter inch pieces. Place fruit in heavy bottom pot and turn the stove burner to low.

Mix lemon juice, water, and sweetener.

Add liquid mixture and spices to the pot. Cover and let simmer over low heat  for about 45 minutes or until fruit is soft.

Transfer to a blender for a smoother sauce. Adjust seasonings and chill.
